8 Days Morocco Desert Trip from Fes - Itinerary
Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt
Depart Fes and travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, often called the Switzerland of Morocco, and visit the cedar forest where Barbary macaques roam freely. Continue through beautiful mountain scenery to Midelt, where you will spend the night and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this charming town.
Day 2: Midelt – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, continue south through the spectacular Ziz Valley, famous for its palm groves and panoramic views. Pass through Erfoud before reaching Merzouga. In the afternoon, enjoy a camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes and admire a stunning Sahara sunset before spending the night in a traditional desert camp.
Day 3: Explore Merzouga Desert
Spend the day discovering the wonders of the Sahara Desert. Visit nomadic families, explore Khamlia village known for its Gnawa music, and discover fossil sites and black desert landscapes. Enjoy authentic Berber hospitality and another memorable night near the dunes.
Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
Wake up early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes. Travel through Rissani and continue to the magnificent Todra Gorges. Enjoy a walk through the canyon before heading to the beautiful Dades Valley for dinner and overnight accommodation.
Day 5: Dades Valley – Valley of Roses – Ouarzazate
Travel through the Valley of Roses, famous for its rose products and scenic landscapes. Continue to Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Africa. Visit the Taourirt Kasbah and explore the city’s film heritage before spending the night in a comfortable hotel.
