Day 1: Airport – Fes
After picking you up at the airport we will visit Fez medina, from there we will go to the city. Fez is one of the oldest imperial cities in moroccan history, founded on the VIIIth century. The medina is from the XIIIth century, with its craftsmen grouped by streets. Supper and bed in the hotel.
Day 2 : Fes- Volubulis – Meknes – Fes
We will walk around Fez to enjoy its brilliant architectures, its fabulous medina and its historical monuments. Fez is the cultural capital of Morocco. In the afternoon you are free to walk on your own.
Day 3: Fes – Erg Chebbi
After breakfast, we will head towards the desert, in our way we will cross a cedar forest, Midelt harbor, Errachidia reservoir, the beautiful landscape of the Ziz valley, and the city of Erfoud also known as “the gate to the desert”. We will see the sunset on Borj d’Est, this peak is above the city so it offers some great views. Afterward, we will drive until we get to the Erg Chebbi dunes, where we will spend the night.
Day 4: Erg Chebbi – Desert Journey
After breakfast, we will take a look around the dunes. W’ill visit both Merzouga Oasis, the nomads in Haimas, the village of Khamlia (black’s village), the Mifiss mines, the desert plateau, and Tissardmine Oasis. We will be back at our lodging by 3 o’clock, we will ride in the camels to see the sunset on the dunes, and we will spend the night in a wild oasis two hours from our position, in the heart of the dunes. We will sleep in “jaimas”. A magical night!
Day 5 : Merzouga – Todra gorges – Dades gorges
We will leave the dunes behind and head towards Erfoud to get to Tinghir where we will visit the “Fougartas”, an old sewer system of the 20th century. We will also take a look at the Tinghir palm grove, after that, we will arrive at Todra’s Gorges where we will rest and eat. Then we will walk around the city and the Boumalne Dades Valley to get to Dades gorges. There the river has eroded the rocks to create a beautiful landscape. Supper and bed in a charming five-star hotel.
Day 6 : Dades – Boutaghrart – Skoura – Ouarzazate
we will start in the morning riding by the track that leads to the rose valley and the magnificent Berber village of Boutghrart where we will drink tea with a local family. We will go on along the thousand casbahs route. Along this route, we will stop to observe some casbahs, landscapes, valleys, nomads living in caves… We will arrive in Skoura and then head towards Ait Benhaddou casbah where many movies were filmed (Obelix, Gladiator, Sahara…). Supper and bed in the hotel.
Day 7: Ait Benhaddou – Telouet – Marrakech
We will go to the marvelous kasbah of Ait Behadou where Lawrence of Arabia was filmed. Another one we will visit is the Telouet At the end of the afternoon we will be back in Marrakech crossing the pass of Tizi n’Tichka (2260 meters) with its beautiful landscapes. We will spend the night in the Riad of Marrakech.
Day 8: Marrakech
Will walk around Marrakech and its main historical monuments, the ancient medina, tombs and mosques, the kasbahs, or the famous square Jemaa El Fna. We will understand why it is said that Morocco is a tourist capital. We will spend the night at the same Riad. Day 9: Marrakech – Essaouira We will start in the morning traveling from Marrakech to Essaouira in a 2 hours and a half journey. There we will enter the wooden crafts museum, located in an ancient palace. There is a sentry tower and the harbor’s Skala. From this harbor, we will gaze into the coast, the isles, and the city.
The Marina’s Gate merges the city and the harbor, and there are auctions to buy fresh fish. The narrow streets of the medina show a lot of craftsmen working jewels, wood… They are installed below the bastions of the city. On the upper side, there are some Spanish cannons from the XVI and XVII centuries. We will return to Marrakech to spend the night in the same riad as the two previous nights.
Day 10: Essaouira – Casablanca
We will depart from Marrakech towards Casablanca. and visit the Hassan II mosque, the medina and the new parts of the city. We will spend the night in a hotel.
Day 11: Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes
After breakfast, we will depart towards Rabat. The city of Meknes reached its golden age thanks to the sultan Mulay Ismail. There is a Romann city, known as Volubilis, 27 km from Meknes. We will walk around the Roman city, after the visit we will arrive in tinMeknes. There we will take a walk around the city, we will go to Moulay IIsmail’stomb, El Hedime square, and Bab Mansour. and spend the night in a hotel.
Day 12: Meknes – Fes
We will accompany you to the airport.
